
Cotswold fencing club has been based in Cheltenham for at least the
last 40 years, having moved venues several times during this period.
Originally called Cheltenham fencing Club,the name was changed in 1983
to Cotswold Fencing Club, later on came the amalgamation with the
Cheltenham YMCA Fencing Club.
The club would welcome information and or copies of photos of the
club in its early days.

Club
Cotswold Fencing Club is
affiliated to fencings National Governing Body(N.G.B.) British Fencing
(England Fencing).
Coaching
Our coaches
are registered with England Fencing, and as required by N.G.B. hold
valid first aid certificattes, have attended a child protection course,
and have CRB clearance to work with children.

Constitution
The club constitution was changed in Dec 2008 to include Child Welfare Officer, and descriptions of the club officers posts. It was then updated in Dec 2010 to align with the clubmark requirements.
Club Nights
The general format of a
club night :-
Juniors start : (7-7.20) Footwork or fencing related games, (7.20-7.45) : Group Lesson, (7.45-8.00) : Free fencing
Seniors Start (8-8.15) :
Footwork /warm-up, (8.15 - 8.50):
Group Lessons -
Beginners / Foil / Epee/ Sabre, (8.50 - 10) Free Fencing /
Individual Lessons.
On the last Wednesday of
the month, a small club competition is run instead of the usual
activities. (Pool sheets and boxes). See "Club Competition" page for more details.
