The next available beginners course will be on 9th May 2012 and will run for 6 weeks, The cost of the course is £35 and includes equipment hire ( Foil, Mask, Glove & Jacket) and instruction. The course cost also includes membership of Cotswold Fencing Club for the remainder of the calender year.
Note due to the slightly longer Senior courses the cost of the Senior course will rise to £45 from September. The Junior course will remain at £35.
£10 Deposit is required to book a place on the course.
Bookings are now being taken for both the Senior and Junior Courses which start on 4th May 2011. The course covers basic fencing skills : simple attacks, defense, terminology, fencing safely, introduction to competition fencing, and leads to a British Fencing Level 1 Foil Award.
The general format of the lessons being about 10 mins footwork, 30 mins group instruction, and 5-10 mins supervised fencing. (The rest of the time putting equipment on/off) You will need to wear training shoes, jogging bottoms (or similar) & T-shirt. Changing facilities are available (inc. Showers). A drink may also be advisable (water or sports drink).
Juniors age 9 to 16 between 7.00 and 8.00 pm - Bookings being taken for the May course
Seniors age 17 and over, between 8.00 and 9.15 pm - Bookings are being taken for the May course.
